The Workshop

The 21stElectromagnetic (EM) Induction Workshop is the premier event for researchers around the world to exchange latest developments in the field of geophysical-electromagnetism.  The Workshop is important for both the international research community and for the many sectors of industry and government that use EM methods for mineral, petroleum and geothermal energy exploration, groundwater and environmental resource evaluation, geohazards monitoring and many other applications.

Darwin, in the northern part of Australia is a wonderfully exotic destination for the Workshop in July 2012.  Located about half-way between Singapore and Sydney, the dry-season in July offers very pleasant temperatures of 20-30 °C in a tropical setting.  This multicultural, young city has a population of 77,000, and offers lots of opportunity for Aboriginal, cultural, wildlife and sporting activities.

The main workshop is from Wednesday 25th July – Tuesday 31st July 2012, followed by a two-day splinter-workshop on 3D modelling and inversion of cratons around the world.  We also encourage you to consider staying on in Australia to attend the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane that starts on 5th August 2012.

We look forward to seeing you at the 21st EM Induction Workshop in Darwin!
